Partners in Competition – Making an exclusive model work for you

For two Cincinnati companies, competition is in everything they do. Whether it’s on the hardwood of the University of Kentucky’s basketball court or in corporate offices working together, competition is going to come into play at some point. However, while competition may be the driving force at what brings Cincinnati Floor Company and Robbins Inc. together, it’s their cooperation and partnership that has made them both dominant forces in their respective markets. In an age of an unstable economy that has produced numerous lone wolf companies, learn how these two local businesses have come together to reap the long term benefits of an exclusive supplier/customer arrangement.

Sit down for an entertaining luncheon as Chuck Maricle, President of Cincinnati Floor Company and Jay Stoehr, III, President of Robbins, Inc. explain why they decided to participate in the game winning strategy of participating in an exclusive model.

Learn how the right partnership can prove to be a useful way of tackling today’s tough economy, especially with the all too prevalent “low bid wins” mentality; allow your business to maintain and even grow market share; as well as to make that partnership work over multiple generations allowing you to take on any challenge or any competitor.

Presenters:

Jay Stoehr – Jay’s passion for designing and manufacturing quality sports flooring systems that benefit Robbins’ direct customers and end users that includes the NBA, Olympics, and NCAA and is only surpassed by his commitment to leading a values driven company – Integrity, Courtesy, Responsive, Professional, Progressive. With a strong background in economics, manufacturing and contracting, as President and CEO, Jay’s focus for 30 years has been growing and strengthening his 117 year old, 4th generation family business. Jay also serves on several non-profit and for-profit boards.

Chuck Maricle – Chuck is in his 27th year with the Cincinnati Floor Company that is Robbins exclusive dealer in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky and parts of West Virginia. His continued commitment to provide every project with all of the resources necessary to deliver the highest quality of products and services in the industry today is what sets him and Cincinnati Floor apart from its competitors. Some of the projects Chuck has worked on include: the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Indiana Pacers, Indiana University, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Kentucky and Xavier University.

A real-life case study to unfold in front of your eyes
Presenter: Janet Ausdenmoore, Director of Corporate Affairs for The Kroger Company

Plan to attend the September 23 luncheon to kick-off our 2011-12 program series. Our presenter, Janet Ausdenmoore, Director of Corporate Affairs for The Kroger Company, will give us a look at the World Premiere of Kroger Sharing Courage: Giving Hope a Hand ® 2011.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Kroger, in conjunction with its partner vendors, continues its commitment to fighting breast cancer. At the luncheon, you’ll get a behind the scenes look into the program as pink packaging and messaging begins to show up in the stores, and the promotions and media ramps up.

Making this a smooth event takes months of planning. From turning the downtown building pink, recruiting Kroger associates to tell their story, creating unique package designs, media buys and advertising creation, printing in store and newspaper promotions, photo shoots with NFL stars, bringing the campaign to life digitally and focusing the effort on a local level, this is a massive effort that takes tremendous coordination.

By attending you will learn how Kroger:

Uses cause marketing to drive sales

Provides insight into coordinating suppliers, package designers, merchandising, printers, media and other parties into a unified effort

Takes a national initiative to the local level through in store events and local personal survivor stories

With the help of key vendor partners who share in the Kroger commitment to eradicating this cancer – and providing support to those who face it – the Kroger family of stores once again will be Giving Hope a Hand® by investing $3 million for breast cancer awareness, treatment and research in the communities we share.

Thanks to our luncheon sponsor!

Topic: “Building the SPARK between Marketing and Sales Strategies”

The market is the market and the current business environment is here to stay for the near future, according to the experts. Marketing in tough markets is even tougher without an effective and strategic connection between marketing and your foot soldiers, your sales team. Are you actively building the links between your marketing strategies and those executing your sales? Find out how to build the SPARK between the brand you have created and the folks on the front line. This luncheon will help you to implement strategies and tactics to stand out and sell your company’s products or services in any market condition.

By attending you will learn from our presenter, Tony Cole, President and CEO of Anthony Cole Training, how to:

–strengthen the relationship between marketing and sales–uncover the inconsistencies between the marketing message and the sales process

–implement specific activities to ensure that marketing impacts the front line success

–get inside the head of a sales guru so that your marketing makes magic

An author and seasoned business consultant, Tony Cole has successfully coached thousands of people. He brings proven wisdom and expertise to companies nationwide, illustrating a parallel between army basic training, a no-excuses mentality and the accountability required for excellent performance in the corporate world. Tony graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Education. A scholarship athlete, upon graduation Tony leveraged his experience to coach Iowa State University and University of Cincinnati athletic teams. He then spent more than 15 years in sales and sales management positions in the exercise equipment and insurance industries. This unique combination of coaching and selling led him to launch Anthony Cole Training in 1991, which builds sales cultures within organizations nationwide.

How does it compare to that of your competition?

Is it good enough to keep your customers from considering your competitors or looking elsewhere?

Is it so good that it gets your customers raving about it to others?

Do you know the emerging trends that can help you stand out or stay ahead of the competition in this new age?
